The safe in the room didn't work and they brought another one up immediately. You have to go up one storey without lift but they brought de cases up. Breakfast is not great at E13 but it was included in our room rate, so we had it. Some staff at reception not too helpful.

Top Tip

The area around the hotel is all pedestrian and you could be towed away. There is a car park in Place Gutenberg behind the hotel, E21 per day. Don't miss the boat trip.

Very tiny room was allocated which was a bit disappointing given that the hotel did not appear to be full - but it was very clean, welcoming and warm. However with only about 12 inches between wll and bed, getting in and out was a bit of a squeeze! Reception staff are very friendly and helpful and this is a superbly located hotel.

Top Tip

If this is not your first visit or you are staying for more than a couple of days take the train to Colmar - about 30 mins - and visit Little Venice and the Unterlinden Museum - fabulous! Also we recommend the Dolphin restaurant next to the hotel - fabulous food. Be prepared to be shocked at the price of food and wine in some restaurants they are very expensive - even before the heart attack shock of 1€ being equal to £1 - OUCH!!!!! Also make sure any hotel booking includes breakfast in the rate as this is very expensive. Cathedrale Hotel allegedly charges 13€ for what was a very average cold buffet - and this seemed from our enquires at other hotels about average........beware!
